News - January 2010

Hello, District Directors:

PLEASE READ CAREFULLY!

Do you feel like you’ve been shot out of a cannon? I do; 2010 is off to a fast-paced start! We wouldn’t want it any other way, would we?

LEAD 2010–National Royal Rangers Council & Conference–is just around the corner. You and your team won’t want to miss it!

I’d like to spotlight an opportunity you will be given to impact millions of boys and young men with the gospel. Please arrive at Council prepared to participate.

If Rangers had never gone overseas, you would not be singing “Shout to the Lord” and other Hillsong favorites. Darlene Zschech gave her heart to the Lord in Rangers at Garden City Assembly in Brisbane, Australia. God is now impacting millions of lives through her ministry worldwide. But Rangers can’t be established in many nations until we make the materials available in their languages.

Here’s where I’m headed. Royal Rangers is active in 80 nations, up from 46 in 2002 when Royal Rangers International began. The RRI curriculum is complete in two languages—English and Spanish. To grow and expand, we must translate the materials into five more—Russian (already well underway), German, French, Portuguese, and Mandarin. These translations will give Royal Rangers access into no less than 48 new nations.

Can you imagine the potential of the Mandarin Chinese translation impacting a nation of 1 billion people? Take this 5-language translation challenge on with me! Come to Council prepared to give and/or make a financial commitment to be fulfilled before LEAD 2011 (next year).

The curriculum for each new language will fill 5 CDs. Translating the content of each CD will cost $10,000. Your district may be able to underwrite the cost of more than one CD. Perhaps, the district will only be able to underwrite one CD or a half or a forth. To meet the need, content from 25 CD’s will need to be translated.

Please pray, plan, and dig deep. We will do a roll call and collect an offering at Council for this important endeavor. Make a sacrificial commitment so we can see souls saved around the world. All giving will receive RR-BGMC Master’s Toolbox credit.

Our future is bright when we invest in it!
